History
The Odysseus Group was originally founded as "The Odysseus Explorers' Group and Gentlemen's Philanthropic Society". This name was altered by general consent in 1905, when the Group admitted its first female member.
Current Status
The Odysseus Group now operates as a loose confederation of like-minded individuals. It is a sort of mutual aid society for explorers and adventurers, sharing resources amongst persons devoted to exploration, knowledge, the betterment of mankind, and the obstruction and defeat of those who would bring harm to the world. This latter portion of the credo, more than any, has brought members of the Odysseus Group into repeated conflict with Germany's Nazi Party, The Steel Cross, and villains such as The Red Queen
