History
Hank Barton is a globe-trotting, gun-toting, two-fisted reporter for the New York Times. Hank came to the Odysseus Group's attention after taking part in an expedition to Antarctica from which few returned alive, and fewer sane. The experience did little to dull Hank's desire to learn more about the wondrous and strange secret paths of the world, though it did harden his resolve to oppose those who'd walk those paths for their own selfish ends.
Since joining up with Odysseus, Hank has been involved in numerous missions, which have earned him the ire of many a villain, and the reluctant friendship of several others (usually those who -- like Doktor Friedrich Von Luft -- would like to get an interview published).
Notable Exploits
- Foiled The Kommandant's plans to utilize eldritch resources and ancient super-technology to further the Third Reich's war effort, freeing a noble race of super-intelligent gorillas from servitude along the way. See the Albertine Rift Mining Incident.
- Recovered the Empire State Building from supernatural thieves. See The Empire State Building Vanishment.
- Battled fishmen.
- Took the war to the Nazi in Berlin itself, in a series of harrowing adventures that culminated with an escape from The Kommandant's deathtraps and a battle with the villain on a super-zeppelin.
Single-handedly
- Derailed the Nazi space program.
- Discovered and eliminated the influence of the Cult of the Yellow Mask upon New York City's upper crust.
