Furious .50

The Furious Fifty Caliber the designation given to a semiautomatic pistol designed by Doc Furious. The gun was designed to the specifications of Miles Thompson, who desired to replace his Colt 1911As with something custom-fit. Working from the model of the Colt, the Furious Fifty benefited from a heavier-caliber round and larger magazine. Despite these modifications, the accuracy of the weapon was also improved, due to the careful redesign of the venting of the exhaust gasses (compensating for the recoil of the larger round) and the careful balancing of the weight of the pistol. Doc Furious also integrated new, lighter alloys to make the weight of the Furious .50 even less than its parent 1911.

As this was a custom design, only the two pistols produced for Thompson currently exist, making them the most powerful conventional handguns currently known. It is only a matter of time, of course, before someone attempts to one-up the design.
