History

A disciple of the great Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin, Doktor Friedrich Von Luft was Germany's pre-eminent aeronautical engineer during the Great War. His zeppelin and plane designs were instrumental in the dominance of the Imperial German Army Air Service over the air power of other nations. In addition, he proved to be a natural genius with respect to the strategy and tactics of air power, and reached the rank of Oberst (Colonel) before the war's end.

At the end of the war, rather than turn over his dirigibles and planes as required by the Treaty of Versailles, and unwilling to destroy his creations to prevent their capture by Entente forces, Von Luft instead rallied a group of loyal supporters willing to continue the fight on their own terms. These renegades took to the skies with as much of Germany's soon-to-be-dismanted air force as they could lay their hands on, including a secret weapon Von Luft had been developing - Die Rache, an enormous zeppelin-carrier, capable of storing, supplying, and launching its own complement of fighters.

Now, Von Luft prowls the European skies exacting revenge on the Entente that brought Germany low. As he is technically a renegade from Germany, Von Luft has been known to attack German assets as well, claiming that post-war Germany is a betrayal of the German Imperial dream. However, the rise of the Nazi party has brought him partly back into the fold, and he is known to have assisted The Steel Cross on occasion.

Von Luft continually refines and upgrades his air fleet, ensuring his technological dominance over the air forces of the world.

Would calling the Carrier Airship "Valhalla" be too obvious?

He's German on a quest for revenge. "Die Rache" (dee RAH-kuh) should be the name. "Vengeance".

Changed the "created by" line a bit. Hope no one objects.
